After Mimi\u2019s little sister becomes sick from contaminated drinking water, the whole family must travel on foot to receive medical assistance. The book reflects the struggle many children, especially girls, go through to get an education. It was inspired by real-life humanitarian Razia Jan, who opened the Zabuli Education Centre in Afghanistan. His family eventually fled to avoid the conflict that broke out in his home.
