Students are required to remember a list of items and add to the list when it is their turn.<\/p>\n\t\t<p><span class=\"Blue_hi-lite_noItalics\"><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"Blue_hi-lite\"><br>\n\t\t<\/span>&#8211; <a href=\"\/lpeyx-teaching-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/pdfs\/grade-1\/pdfs\/www_largelettercards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">large letter cards<\/a><br>\n\t\t<span class=\"Blue_hi-lite_noItalics\"><strong>Grouping:<\/strong><\/span> whole class<\/p>\n\t\t<h2 id=\"Playing_the_Game\"><span class=\"heading2\">Playing the Game<\/span> <\/h2>\n\t\t<ol>\n\t\t<li>Begin the game by saying the sentence: <br>\n\t\t\u201cI packed my sister\u2019s suitcase and in it I put ______.\u201d <\/li>\n\t\t<li>Explain that each player will take a turn and add something to the suitcase. The first player completes the sentence by saying a word that begins with the letter \u2018a.\u2019 For example, \u201cI packed my sister\u2019s suitcase and in it I put an atlas.\u201d<\/li>\n\t\t<li>Provide each student with a letter card and have them think of something they can pack in the suitcase that begins with this letter.<\/li>\n\t\t<li>The player with the next letter in the alphabet repeats the sentence and the first item and then adds a word that begins with the letter \u2018b.\u2019 (for example, \u201cI packed my sister\u2019s suitcase and in it I put an atlas and a baseball.\u201d)<\/li>\n\t\t<li>In turn, each player must try to remember what the past players have said and add an item that starts with the next letter of the alphabet.<br>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<h3 id=\"Variation\"><span class=\"author\">Variation<\/span>\n\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t<ul>\n\t\t<li>Provide a category\/topic and challenge students to think of items specific to this category.
